Creamy rice porridge

Last weekend, saya dapat beli sepotong ikan merah for Hakim
My plan was to cook sup ikan merah + bubur nasi + sayur
Untuk buat sup, I used

1tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 clove of garlic
ikan merah (sepotong tu saya bahagi empat, kulit saya buang)

dalam periuk lain, saya masak bubur nasi + all the legumes yg saye nak letak.

once dah masak, saye mix sup + bubur nasi and blend

dan siap.

it is super delicious and creamy! macam letak fresh cream pulak..rasenye rase creamy tu dtg dari butter kot..and i likee!!..Hakim pon suka..and as usual..saki baki yg tak habis..umi Hakim yang abiskan.hehhe

and pagi ni, I tried buat sup ayam pulak..cume sbb nak cepat..saye just tumis bawang putih dgn butter, then letak beras, air and ayam sampai masak..pestu letak sayur..pestu blend..mmg sedap..

ok saya lapar.

btw..my milk supply still merundum (sebab tak pam mase pegi Kulim)..dan liang yg tersumbat tu masih tersumbat..uhukss..sedey

Another episode of bengkak susu

Well..as mentioned in my previous entry, I had to visit SilTerra, Kulim yesterday.

So my hubby and my lil pumpkin (yang masih tido lena) anta saya di office around 6am.

Took the 8.15am flight..sampai SilTerra around 11am.

During lunch break..ingatkan nak pump..semangat ni..siap pinjam Freestyle from my colleague..

Iye la kan..kang bawak my Spectre..sekali takde plug nak cucuk..naye je

So my Spectre kne tinggal kat meja opis je

However..that wat my biggest mistake ever..sbb Freestyle didn’t work properly

Suction tak kuat lansung even though I put it to the max

According to the owner..her Freestlye has gone caput la kot..dua tahun pakai beb and tak pnah pegi anta service

But..she managed to breastfeed her baby for 2 years =)

So..saya tak dapat pump (mase tu dah nak nangis dah sbb susu tgh banyak) dan jugak panic tak tau nak buat ape

Last resort..saye try marmet..express milk pkai tangan

Never did that before..agak susah jugak nak aim soh susu masuk dalam botol..haha

Pestu nak perah tu quite tricky..lagi2 mase tu kat dalam surau

Mule2 segan jugak..but memandangkan tgh sakit..buat selumber badak je

Lagipon pekerja2 situ tak knal saye pon..hahahha

So in 20 mins, I managed to pump out 2oz..tu pon breast still penuh lagi..tp tak dapat nak continue..because I felt dizzy (asik menunduk terbongkok2)..lagipon it was already 2pm

Kena sambung meeting..

At 6..before balik..I told my colleagues yg I went to surau to perform my asar prayer

Tipu sunat je..sebenarnye nak “pump” lagi..sbb tadi mase zohor dah siap jamak dah..hahha

The same, saya hanya sempat  kuarkan susu untuk redakan rase sakit menyengat..and I know, it wont last long..

Then we went to island..looking for restaurant seafood teluk tempoyak

I cudnt concentrate on meals sbb mase tu mmg tgh sakit gile..

Luckily kat situ ade surau

So once again, lepas makan, I excused myself to perform my prayer

Memandangkan tade org dalam surau, kat tempat wuduk tu jugak I did marmet

Sedey tgk susu2 yang dibazirkan..but i had no choice

Kali ini rase sakit tak hilang..walaupon dah banyak susu dikuarkan

Sbb ade satu liang tersumbat..means ade satu part kat bahagian breast ni keras dan penuh dgn susu

Nangis..dah le penat gile..dan jugak mengantuk..

Pestu, proceed ke airport untuk amik flight balik kl

Kali ni I excused myself to washroom untuk keluarkan lagi susu

But to no avail..sakit berdenyut masih ade..macam nak demam pon ade

But since I already have flu + cough + not enough sleep package..demam tu tak terase sgt

Sampai rumah around 1.30am..Hakim still tido

Saya terus ON my spectre and pump..lega sket rase

Dapat le beberapa botol semalam..huhu

However liang yg tersumbat tu masih degil..pump pon tak jalan..picit2 pon tak jalan

So I took a hot shower..dan pump lagi..barulah susu dari liang yg tersumbat tu keluar..

Legaa..dah boleh tido..at 2.30am

When I left to work this morning..Hakim was still sleeping..

So he hasn’t see me yet..and I haven’t talk to him yet

And that is why.. I miss him badly! I shud have take a day off or ask for MC!

(but ari selasa tu dah MC..takkan ari ni nak MC plak..aiyoo)


Pestu ari ni pump..dapat sket pulak..expected..sbb smlm tak kosongkan betul2..uhuks

Not feeling well + Solid Food

Last week, saya dapat dua bad news..terus rase down and demotivated..uhuks

On the other hand, I am down with flu and cough..jangkit dari Hakim..aduyai..sian tgk dia dok batuk2 berkahak..malam2 tido pon tak lena..so for the third time in this month, kami bertiga pegi melawat Dr Nazim yang baik hati di Hospital Az-Zahrah (with one week interval..haha)..he said skang mmg season baby demam, batuk n selsema..viral he said. Lagipon cuaca panas gile lately..pheewww..mmg bahangnye amat2 le terase..so saya kerapkan lagi breastfeed, tak mau dia dehydrate..fast recovery ye sayang.

Progress on solid food. Alhamdulillah dia dah slowly accept bubur nasik..so jgn lagi ckp saye tak kasi anak makan ye :p Saya pilih untuk masak for him every morning instead of buat iced cube. Sebab..well it is sort of fun..dan buat ice cube is sort of leceh..huhuhu

So menu bubur nasi Hakim so far are:

Brown rice + Carrot + Spinach + Serbuk ikan bilis

Brown rice + sweet potatoes + Spinach + Serbuk ikan bilis

Brown rice + Carrot + peas + serbuk ikan bilis

Brown rice + carrot + broccoli + cauliflower + spinach + chicken + serbuk ikan bilis

Next week nak try buat sup ikan merah then campur dgn bubur nasik. So nak try introduce unsalted butter/ olive oil, garlic, and fish.

Last weekend, try kasi yogurt + banana (his fav fruit)..but tidak berjaya..kena cuba lagi minggu depan.huhu

Selalunye saya bekalkan 2 bekas makanan Avent kepada babysitter. Satu berisi bubur nasi, 1 lagi berisi puree buah. And according to bs, semuanya licin..huhuhu

However, I am wondering, can I give raw fruit to him? Accroding to wholesomebabyfood, yes I can..tapi cam pelik pulak nak blend pear, or apple, or plum yang tidak di-stim. Sesape penah try?

Owh..saye jugak terpk nak start introduce telur kuning kat Hakim..but takut allergic pulak..huhu I reread the steps to introduce eggs to babies over and over again..but not convincing..haha

Last but not leat..on Wednesday..i have to go to SilTerra Kulim..seb baik balik hari..wuhuuu..Cuma flight is early in the morning..and balik sini semula around midnite..camne saye nak conserve my ebm the whole day?definitely I have to pump la kan..otherwise sakit woo dan jugak merudum susu nanti..any idea?

Happy mode

Just finish my English exam..insya-Allah semuanya ok. Tak sabar nak tunggu result, which is akan keluar on the 25^th may. Hopefully semuanya akan berjalan lancer..On the other hand..sgt lega..huhuhu dah lame wei tak amik exam..of course berdebar2 gile ok. But now dah selesai, ceria plak rase =)

Btw, ade org tnaye saye pasal pneumococcal..kenape Hakim amik..err..Hakim amik sbb tempat yg kami akan pergi insya-Allah next year mmg mewajibkan semua baby amik buleh?huhu which is true..Hakim’s paed cakap cenggitu..but my main reason is..after saye bace pamphlet pasal pneumococcal dan kenapa vaksin ini perlu..en suami dan saya decide untuk amik. Before ni saya ingat pneumococcal untuk prevent batuk dan selsema..which is not true. It prevents more severe illness than batuk dan selsema like meningitis, ear infection, blood infection etc.

Then I remembered one of my classmate’s newborn, who was in the UK at that time, died because of meningitis. Dan mase saye dok bace pamphlet tu jugak, kes rotavirus sedang berlaku di perak. So agak risau jugak la..sbb Hakim tak amik rotavirus jugak. Bile jumpa paed, she said, it was too late to take injection for rotavirus..sbb Hakim dah  6 bulan lebey dah mase tu. However, according to her, if orang yang berada di persekitaran Hakim menjaga kebersihan dgn baik, sepatutnye takde masalah, dan insya-Allah, dijauhkan dari rotavirus ni. But as pneumococcal, it is advisable la to take it, even though expensive la jugak..huhuhu..demi anak orang kata. Huhuhu

So Hakim had his first penumococcal injection when he was 8 month old. Memandangkan dia amik agak lambat..so kena tiga kali je. The second one would be next month, when he is 10 month, pestu the last one is next year, ketika umur dia 18 months.

Last but not least..yesterday was mother’s day rite..like always, I called my mom to wish her happy mother’s day..then me, en suami n hakim went to Alamanda for a walk..then I just realized that this is my first mother’s day.. I AM A MOM now!! Wuhuuu..feel a bit excited about it..especially when there is a red rose for me..hihi

Time flies very fast kan..anak dah 9 bulan..setiap kali tgk hakim..still teringat dia ketika dia masih dlm perut..masih ingat his first kick..his hiccups..the labour..owh my..i miss my pregnancy..seb baek ade buat entry mase preggy dulu..bleh le balik2 bace..hihi

Baby neck float

There will be a short weekend getaway organized by my kak long on the 19^th. And the place that we are going to stay has a large swimming pool. My husband and I agreed that it will be the perfect time to hold a “swimming class” for Hakim.

So I have been looking for a baby neck float. I saw some bloggers posted beautiful pictures of their baby enjoying swimming by using this baby neck float.

I already asked Yun if she has it in stock, and she said yes. Yeay! Will place my order this afternoon, as soon as my hubby decides which one he prefers, round or star shape. I already picked the color, which is green, obviously. Ngeeeeee

I miss him

He is 9 months ++  rite now..his development, I must say, is excellent. He loves reading ABC’s book..he loves listening to ABC’s song, my own version of 123 song and twinkle2 little star. His favorite channel is of course BabyTv, and his favorite program is Emma’s Theater. He will grin and smile and laugh each time Emma’s face comes out.

On the other hand, he hasn’t crawl yet, neither nor sliding. He doesn’t know yet how to move forth, only move backward. But he already can take position of crawling (lift up his belly off the floor), but he doesn’t move. He knows to clap hand and currently to give five. And sometimes, he can wave back.

He can as well recognize faces, he can easily get going with familiar faces, while he will just be quiet and inactive when I put him with a stranger, but not crying, my tough boy. He is a happy baby, but sometime can be cranky (not too much though), especially when he feels that I don’t spend much time with him. And for the past few days, when he really needs me, I can hear he shouts “miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii” or was it my imagination?

His solid food feeding is still a nightmare for me. Sometimes he eats A LOT, and sometimes he doesn’t eat at all. Sighh..I tried all sort of recipes that I could find on the internet to the extend that people laughed and made joke of me for feeding weird things to my baby. Ok..is it that weird to give mango puree with chicken puree? Hakim loves mango puree but I have to ensure that he takes iron too. And he bluntly refuses to eat rice porridge, a must solid food to be fed to your baby according to some people. But they don’t know that and keep asking me why I just dunt give rice porridge instead? Blurrghhh..they can never understand. They think they know Hakim better than me, and it annoys me a lot.

And my baby becomes taller, so he looks like he is loosing weight, which is not. His current weight is 8.9kg and his height is about 82cm. And people keep asking why Hakim is so kurus..tak makan ke? Aiyoo..it hurts ok! What do you want to say..I am a bad mother who doesn’t feed his little baby? Mind your own business will ya.
